About Laying the Foundations
Laying the Foundations is one teacher's journey in teaching students in their first year of school.
I am passionate about ensuring that every child is given the opportunity to succeed in their schooling. I want every child to love learning. I want every child to be literate and numerate. I believe that my practice should be evidence-informed and that this requires an open mind.
I am a father of two (8 & 5), married to a future Early Childhood Educator.
I have been teaching for over a decade in Australia. I have worked as a classroom teacher, lead teacher, literacy learning specialist, and principal. I have a Master of Education (in Expert Teaching Practice).
I currently teach students in their first year of schooling. I call it prep, you might call it foundation, kindergarten or something else. Whatever you call it, I am fortunate to teach at a wonderful school in an idyllic location in Victoria, Australia.
Join me as I lay the foundations for my students.
